Redwork Splendor Exhibit at FACES
June 9, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until August 3, 2018
Come see a lovely gallery of vintage and modern redwork and embroidered quilts! Enjoy the talent of local quilters from the Heartland Quilt Guild and the Bayside Quilt Guild, who have beautifully rendered their quilts using redwork embroidery. Redwork is an embroidery design that uses red thread (originally called “turkey-red” in the late 1800’s). Today, with the availability of many colors of thread, the term redwork is now used for a certain type of embroidery; any color of thread is used now to trace the outline of line-drawings; some are simple designs, and others more complex. You will be amazed at the beautifully wrought designs and perhaps be inspired to create one of your own! Thursday – Saturday, 12pm – 4pm
